Getting started with your Saphe

Welcome on board! You are now part of our traffic community - let's get you up and running 🚗 

This guide takes you through the setup from start to finish, so you are ready to report and receive alerts in under 15 minutes.

What you need:

  • Your phone with internet access âś…
  • Your Saphe T charged âś…
  • Bluetooth and location enabled on your phone âś…
  • A payment method ready for when you set up your subscription âś…
STEP 1

Download and install Saphe Link

Saphe Link is the app that connects you to your Saphe T and the rest of the community.

Scan the QR code in the lid of the Saphe T box or click the icons below to download and install the app.  

   

Create an account or log in

  1. Open the Saphe Link app
  2. Choose between Google, Apple or email
  3. If you choose Google or Apple, you will automatically be logged in with the email address linked to the account

If you have already created a Saphe account, simply log in using the method you normally use.

The first time you open the app, it will ask you to make a few choices. It only takes a moment.

Cookies and marketing

We use cookies to provide and improve our service. Marketing concerns what you would like to hear from us - for example, whether you would like to receive a monthly community update. You can always change your marketing consent later.

App permissions

Follow the built-in flow to give the app access to what it needs:

🔵 Bluetooth connects your Saphe T to your phone

đź”” Notifications allow you to receive alerts

đź“Ť Location makes sure the alerts are relevant to where you are driving

Location should be set to "Always", so that we can give you timely warnings - even when the app is not open. This means you can simply get into the car and Saphe will be ready to drive with you.

You can also choose "Allow While Using App" instead. In that case, just remember to open the app when you get into the car and leave it open while you drive. The app will regularly ask you to change the permission to "Always".

STEP 2

Connect your Saphe T to the app

You now need to pair your Saphe Link app with your Saphe T. Take the Saphe T out of the charger and switch it on using the small button on the side.

  1. In the Saphe Link app, click Menu
  2. Choose Devices 
  3. The app searches for your Saphe T via Bluetooth
  4. When your Saphe T appears in the list, tap it to establish the connection
STEP 3

Set up your subscription

Your Saphe T is now paired and the app will guide you through setting up a Premium+ subscription. 

If you purchased a Saphe T with a 6-month subscription included, you will have either a digital voucher or a physical voucher in the box. Follow the flow below that applies to you. 

Note: even though a 6-month subscription is included, you will be asked to choose a payment frequency and enter payment details. You will not be charged until the 6 months have expired. 

We recommend annual or six-monthly payments.

Digital voucher

Your 6-month subscription is already ready on the device. You simply need to follow the guide in the app to complete the activation.   

  1. Tap Complete activation
  2. Choose a payment frequency and payment method, and complete the purchase
Physical voucher

If you have a red voucher in the box, you need to use the code on it. Once the device is paired, it will say that it is missing a subscription. Click Purchase subscription and follow the guide:

  1. Choose Unlock device 
  2. Find your Saphe T and tap Unlock device
  3. Enter the code from your voucher and tap Redeem
  4. Choose a payment frequency and payment method, and complete the purchase
STEP 4

Ready for your first trip

Congratulations! Your Saphe T is now connected and ready to use đź‘Ź

Over the coming period, you will receive a few emails and messages in the app. They welcome you and teach you about alert types and how to report them, among other things. Please take the time to read them. It is the quickest way to get the most out of your Saphe T from day one.

Mount your Saphe T in the car

Your Saphe T comes with two mounts with angles of 65 or 80 degrees.

  1. Clean the surface where you want to place your Saphe T
  2. Remove the plastic film from the mount. Remember to remove the plastic film from both the magnet and the tape
  3. Place the mount 
  4. Mount your Saphe T on the magnet on the mount

Tip: Choose a position where you can see your Saphe T when looking out through the windscreen.
