If your Saphe Drive Pro (or phone or car screen) shows an incorrect speed, first check the location accuracy in the Saphe Link app. Note the figure shown here, as it is crucial for the GPS’s precision.
Note: Your Saphe Drive Pro most likely does not show exactly the same speed as your car does. A car usually shows that you are driving 5-10% faster than you actually are. Your Saphe Drive Pro uses your phone’s GPS to measure the speed you are travelling at.
How to check the GPS in Status and Permissions:
- Open the Saphe Link app on your phone.
- Go to "menu"
- Select "Status and Permissions"
- Check which symbol is shown next to "Location accuracy", and see what number is in parentheses.
The number should preferably be under 20m to ensure the most accurate location. If the number is over 20m, or there is no green checkmark, the GPS must be reset on your phone.
Note: The reset guide varies depending on whether you have an Android phone or an iPhone. Please follow the relevant guide below.
iPhone
- Open "Settings" on your phone.
- Go to "General"
- Scroll down and select "Transfer or Reset iPhone"
- Tap "Reset"
- Choose "Reset Location & Privacy", and enter your passcode.
- Tap "Reset Settings" (shown in red text).
- Return to the Saphe Link app, where a pop-up will ask for Bluetooth permission – allow this.
- A new pop-up will ask you to set location permission to "Always" – tap "Go to Settings"
- In "Settings", tap Location and select "Always"
Android
- Open the "Play Store" on your phone.
- Search for "GPS Status & Toolbox" and download the app
- Accept the "permissions" when you open the app
- Once permissions are accepted, a compass will appear on the screen.
- Swipe from right to left on the screen until a black screen with the text No saved locations appears.
- Tap the three lines in the top left corner
- Select "Manage A-GPS state"
- Tap "Reset" in the small box that appears.
- Wait 5-6 minutes while the phone’s "GPS" resets, then restart the phone.
